Full Job Description

As administrator you will be expected to support the admin function of the Asian Women's Resource Centre providing dedicated admin support to all staff and managers within the office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to work some extra hours during the week. The role requires someone dynamic who can multitask and manage their time to ensure the smooth running of the office. This role requires someone who can:

  • Support with calls and all email enquiries

  • Manage, upload, and distribute all incoming referrals

  • Ensure the smooth running of the administrative systems including monitoring and recording of information necessary for the organisation

  • Use the database and case management system to record information and monitoring data

  • Provide information as requested for the director to enable her to make timely returns to funders

  • Deal with and co-ordinate telephone enquiries (where required), including transferring calls and taking messages for other members of the team

  • Manage enquiries from members of the public, and deal with them appropriately or pass the enquiry on to the relevant officer

  • Use Microsoft word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and other in-house systems to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases

  • Organize conference, seminars, and events as required

  • Use content management systems to maintain and update websites and internal databases

  • Attend meetings, take minutes, and keep notes

  • Liaise with office staff and external contacts

  • Sort and distribute incoming post

  • Organise and store documents and computer-based information

  • Organise group activities, Eid, Diwali, international women's day, pamper day and any other events when required

  • Manage effectively a demanding and pressurized personal workload, which involves conflicting priorities and is subject to constant change, and to maintain a flexible approach to the type of work to be undertaken.

  • Collate, prepare and distribute publicity and information about the work of the AWRC services to potential service users, referral agencies and other relevant bodies, e.g. Quarterly leaflets, newsletters, website updates etc.

  • Positively promote AWRC services

  • Ensure leaflets, posters and written materials are distributed widely

  • Ensure that diversity and equality is at the center of the service and the service is responsive to and meets the needs of all women


  • Other Duties

    The post holder is also expected to:
  • Attend staff and team meetings.

  • Work flexibly as agreed within the team to meet the demands of the service

  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the Asian Women's Resource Centre

  • Available for training opportunities as agreed with the Director

  • Positively promote the work of the Asian Women's Resource Centre

  • Implement and abide by all Asian Women's Resource Centre's policies and procedures

  • Undertake other related duties requested by the director /or management committee deems appropriate and /or necessary.

  • Support the delivery of publications, including research reports, Annual Report, policy publications.

  • Work closely with the Community Development Officer Organize to support group activities and any other internal and external events when required.

  • Attend meetings as required by the Director, take minutes where requested and file accordingly

    A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

    Contract length: 6 months

    Pay: £10,400.00-£26,000.00 per year

    Expected hours: 14 per week
