  • Norton Hill serves Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding rural area where there is an abundance of attractive and affordable housing. The school is on the edge of the Mendips but close to Bath, Bristol, Frome and Wells.

    We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of MFL to join our talented and hardworking Languages Department. This post is for a permanent full-time position from September 2024. You should be highly motivated, proactive and able to support all students to achieve their potential. Our aim is to ensure pupils make the best possible progress and your teaching will be integral to this. We welcome applications from French and/or Spanish specialists, with the ability to teach their main language to at least GCSE level., We offer both French and Spanish to students throughout the curriculum, from KS3 to the Sixth Form. The ability to offer both languages at KS3 level is advantageous but not essential.,
  • The ability to teach either French or Spanish to at least KS4 (KS5 would be desirable)

  • The ability to teach both languages to KS3 would be desirable

    Our school is highly successful and oversubscribed, with EBacc entries well above the national average, and successful results for students, whether they are disadvantaged, SEND or Gifted and Talented. We value the development of the whole child, and encourage students to take part in a wide range of co-curricular activities. Outdoor education is very popular with our students, and we usually have a large proportion of Y10 participating in the Bronze DofE award, with many progressing to the higher awards. We also run a range of trips each year, both abroad and in the UK, culminating in a popular 'activities week' at the end of the year.
