Full Job Description

We are looking for a new Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our laboratory team at the James Paget University Hospital., The role is to support the effective, consistent and efficient running of Blood Sciences services. Perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Specimen Reception and relevant laboratory areas. Perform standard biological tests, process blood and other fluids for analysis ensuring sample integrity is maintained at all times.

This role requires the daily use of the Pathology IT systems to a very high level of accuracy and speed when inputting patient demographic and test data.

You will be trained to a high standard in a multidisciplinary setting.

You will need good keyboard skills as this role involves using the Laboratory computer system so an ability to concentrate and attention to detail are essential. You will need to follow instructions to ensure no errors are made.
