Full Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will constantly develop new ideas and bring them to life.

Day-to-day, you'll be part of a small team of mechanically based engineers responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of more than thirty satellite communication antennas as part of a scheduled maintenance program.

  • Part of a team that carry out all mechanical maintenance checks on satellite antennas varying in size from 1-metre to 32-metre

  • Assist and participate in all other site engineering tasks depending on operational tasking

  • Documentation of any work carried out including obtaining and compiling written estimates and quotations for remedial work and any additional project work as directed by the Site Manager or Senior Management

  • Fully comply with environmental, health and safety regulations, compiling risk assessments and method statements before carrying out tasks

  • Manufacture/modification and testing of components in a workshop environment, including interpretation of engineering schematics and drawings


  • This position involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.

    This role is full time, 37-hours per week and is based on site at Bude.

  • Experience in working with large mechanical equipment

  • Willingness to operate from Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)

  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, SharePoint and Excel, Nationally recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or time served as a Mechanical Technician / Engineer

  • Clean UK driving licence with the ability to travel to remote site, The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
