Full Job Description

  • You will arrange the planned maintenance of the equipment taking into account the operational requirements of the facility.

  • You will ensure the SAP plant maintenance system is maintained and kept up to date.

  • Also, you will authorise Permits to Work using knowledge of plant and equipment to ensure safe procedures are used whilst minimise impact on production.

  • You will compile and ensure adherence to local work instructions which ensure that tasks are carried out in a safe and effective manner and meet the requirements of BOC standards and compliance with H&SE standards.

  • You will have a responsibility towards the completion of the actions identified in the SHEQ plan.

  • Additionally, you will carry out monthly Planned General Inspections and Management Checklists.

  • You will report defective equipment and arrange for its repair or replacement

  • You will prepare reports for both BOC and the Customer as required and provide cover for callouts.

  • Furthermore, you will identify opportunities to reduce gas generation and improve gas recovery.

  • And lastly, you will manage the operation of helium liquefiers to optimise their output, record performance and diagnose faults.

    Yo have knowledge of pressure systems and a good understanding of the operation of compressors and related equipment.

  • You have a working knowledge of helium liquefiers and purifiers would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • A basic understanding of process and instrumentation is also beneficial.

  • Also, you are City & Guilds or similar Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation apprenticeship qualified along with basic process skills in order to deal with equipment issues as they arise.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability is required.

  • You have good interpersonal skills, be a good communicator, a team player and be able to articulate various options, particularly when under pressure.

  • Additionally, you have understanding of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations is required.

  • A strong safety ethic is important.

  • You have a physical strength, a good understanding of manual handling techniques and ability to use a ladder.

  • Good numerical skills, data logging and planning are essential

  • Furthermore, you have a good working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel and E-mail.

  • A driving licence is also required.

  • And lastly, you must have a high level of personal Integrity
