Maintenance Assistant

General Responsibilities

This job involves performing general maintenance and repairs to fixtures and fittings, as directed. You'll also be responsible for ground maintenance tasks, decorating work, and assisting with maintenance checklists. You should perform visual checks on electrical fittings and equipment and report faults. It's important to comply with the company's safety procedures, communicate effectively, assist other departments, and comply with the safeguarding policy.

• Experience in basic maintenance skills, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work (if qualified to do so).


• Capable of operating all tools and machines associated with the job safely.


• Willing to learn new skills


• Hold a valid driving license.


• Computer literate


• Experience working in a school or similar environment could be an added advantage.


• Aware of the main requirements of health and safety legislation and good practice relevant to the duties of the post.


• A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary for this role.
