Full Job Description

One Consultant Paediatrician with Neonatal Interest is required to join an existing team of 19 Paediatricians on a fixed term contract (6-12 months) at the Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford. Applicants are required to have the Neonatal SPIN or equivalent experience as detailed in the job pack.

+ · Share the general clinical work and take part in the 1:15 acute paediatric on-call rota as well as 1:15 hot weeks on General Paediatrics, Neonates and PAU.
· The rota is likely to split into separate Paediatric and Neonatal rotas. The applicant is expected to participate on the neonatal rota (1:6 or 1:7).
· The remaining working weeks would include 3 out-patient clinics per week including one at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.
· Support the Trust objective of a 6 week wait for new outpatient appointments.
· Initiate and engage in safeguarding procedures as necessary and comply with the safeguarding pathway and protocol.
· Lead multi-disciplinary planning for admission or discharge whilst on attending week.
· Develop/maintain special interest in neonatology and support in developing the services by taking up national, KSS ODN and local projects and other neonatal activities.

1 x Consultant Paediatrician with Neonatal Interest (fixed term post - 6-12 months with as soon as possible start )
Full time- 10 PAs, This is a full-time post but part time and job share are also encouraged subject to department needs. This is an excellent opportunity for senior trainees who are finishing their CCT in next 3-6months.
The appointment, with 10-programmed activities, will be made in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. The candidates who are unable, for personal reasons, to work full time are eligible to apply and, if successful, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with clinical director and consultant colleagues.
