    We are currently recruiting to a Community Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Waltham Forest Memory Service, based at Red Oak Lodge, Thorne Close, Leytonstone, London, E11 4HU.

    This is a new post and is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

    You will join another 0.3wte Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr Samir Shah), 0.1wte Consultant Geriatrician (from Whipps Cross Hospital), 0.8wte Specialist Grade Doctor (Dr Georgina Turnbull), and 1wte Core/GP Trainee (combined sessions from 3 trainees) within the service, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

    You will be expected to:
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to older adult people with mental health needs, across Waltham Forest.

  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team

  • Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external older adult mental health providers and acute hospitals

  • Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata). (Optional)

  • Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative

  • Work alongside 0.3wte Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr Samir Shah), 0.1wte Consultant Geriatrician (from Whipps Cross Hospital), 0.8wte Specialist Grade Doctor (Georgina Turnbull), and 1wte Core/GP Trainee (combined sessions from 3 trainees)

  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.
