Legal Counsel

As Legal Counsel you will provide legal support on a global basis for our Catalyst Technologies (CT) licensing business, which is a world leader in developing and licensing advanced proprietary process technologies for the oil, gas and chemical industries.

This role is a temporary position for 1 year (maternity leave cover). Full training and support will be provided and no prior experience of technology licensing is required.

What you will do

• Advise on a wide range of domestic and international commercial matters


• Provide legal support to CT colleagues globally


• Work closely with business colleagues in order to manage and mitigate a wide range of risks (legal, health and safety, compliance, financial and reputational)


• Draft and negotiate a variety of legal documents and commercial contracts, esp. licensing agreements


• Review standard terms and conditions, bespoke agreements, joint development agreements, consultancy agreements and sales / purchase agreements


• Work closely with project managers to deal with matters arising during project execution


• Manage specialist legal services provided by external firms
