Full Job Description

In this role your main accountabilities will include :

  • Providing sound, pragmatic advice and guidance to the business on employee relations matters, including the interpretation and application of industrial instruments,

  • Provide advice and guidance to the business on the management of disputes and workplace issues,

  • Co-ordinate and assist in the planning, preparation and management of any collective contracts negotiations,

  • Support management in their dealings with employee representative bodies,

  • Lead and support business transformation / change projects,

  • Liaison with internal legal counsel for the drafting of Employment / Industrial documentation,

  • Drive, coordinate and administer the organisation's consultative forums,

  • Develop and facilitate training for first line Managers in conjunction with the broader human resources team.

    This role offers a great mix of strategy and "hands on" work, for a passionate person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who takes pride in their relationship building and facilitation skills., To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience :

  • Tertiary qualifications in law, human resource management or a related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in supporting and advising on organisational transformation and change programs,

  • Significant experience in a similar Employee Relations role in a large, complex organisation,

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant employment / industrial laws and experience with containment / positive employee relations

  • Proven experience in understanding and interpreting Industrial Instruments and Collective Bargain Agreements (CBAs)

  • Substantial experience in dealing with unions and employee representatives

  • Ability to think strategically in the context of the whole enterprise

  • Strong stakeholder management skills
