Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit dedicated and nurturing individuals, preferably with experience of working with children with additional needs, who are committed to ensuring all pupils have equality of opportunity to access the curriculum regardless of their barriers and be involved in the fullness of school life. The role will involve both one-to-one work with specific pupils and small group work, leading interventions needed to support their development and academic progress plus other duties such as supervising children in the dining hall and outside in the playground.

  • Enjoy working with children with additional needs, including 1-1 support

  • Positively promote inclusion and have high expectations for all children

  • Demonstrate a commitment towards raising standards within a school community

  • Have an understanding of numeracy skills and literacy in the primary curriculum

  • Be able to deliver a range of intervention programs

  • Be committed to professional development & developing their skills in the classroom

  • Be creative and enjoy making their interventions fun in order to inspire, motivate, engage and enthuse our pupils to love learning and aspire for great things

  • Be a team player with good communication skills

  • Have a range of effective positive behaviour management skills

  • Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community

  • Have a commitment to the school's Christian values of Love, Compassion and Respect.


  • The successful candidate may:
  • Have experience of working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

  • Have additional relevant/specialist skills that will be beneficial to working with children.

  • Start Date: As soon as possible

    Pay scale: Scale 4 of the LBRUT Support Staff Scale (Actual salary for 19.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, £13,126 to £13,731)
