Full Job Description

As we continue our mission to deliver exceptional conveyancing services to clients across the UK, we're looking for an Internal Communications & Engagement Manager to join our People team on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for developing our internal communication and engagement strategy, creating and delivering employee communications in a variety of media across our UK sites and remote working teams. You will develop the annual plan for employee communications by audience, delivering compelling and timely content.

You will lead the planning and delivery of our engagement activity working with HR colleagues and our Employee Forum representatives, bringing our people together through activities, events and programmes covering key topics such as DE&I, charity giving and well-being, helping to shape our employee experience and build our culture.

Nurturing strong relationships with key business stakeholders including the Executive, senior leaders and wider business teams, you will drive advocacy from within, using communications and activities to ensure teams feel informed and motivated. Success will be based on our overall employee feedback, engagement scores and an inclusive culture whereby our people feel valued and committed.

What you'll be doing….

  • Embedded in the business you'll be an advocate for positivity, identifying gaps in communication and creatively addressing needs

  • Developing and implementing the internal communications plan to inspire, inform and engage employees, tailoring communication for different business areas to ensure messages land effectively

  • Reviewing and developing processes and communication channels, using innovative and creative approaches to engage and support more effective communications across the business

  • Working with the Executive team to create a regular drumbeat of key business communications

  • Setting the tone and plan for internal communications to ensure communication is proactive rather than reactive

  • Acting as a key advocate of the company Vision, Mission and Values, helping to embed them into everything we do

  • Produce a range of compelling content, including newsletters, reports, social media and website updates

  • Creating communication content in a variety of different media including delivering complex business information in a way that people can quickly understand

  • Collaborating with the Marketing team to ensure our internal tone of voice is aligned with how we communicate externally with clients

  • Working with the CPO help to lead the company 'Making a Difference' programme focussed on DE&I, Wellbeing, Giving Something Back and the Environment

  • Planning and leading on a calendar of annual engagement activities and events

  • Supporting the activities of the Employee Forum to optimise engagement

  • Designing and creating collateral and online content for the People team, such as recruitment brochures and adverts to build a strong employer brand

  • Collaborating with the Marketing team to contribute insights and recommendations for the company's social media strategy, ensuring alignment with internal communication objectives.

  • Leading the company employee survey programme, working with leaders across the business to develop plans and optimise employee engagement

  • Working with the L&D, Compliance and Legal teams to create a framework to manage specific communications - covering messaging, frequency, tools, and content

    Do you have high levels of creativity and a passion for communication?


  • Do you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward, approachable way?, You're a proactive and engaging person who can influence people at all levels of a business, demonstrating broad business thinking - both strategically and tactically. Displaying a 'can do attitude', you're a practitioner not theorist. You're confident in your design and copy writing skills and competent using various technologies such as image design, intranet sites and social media.,
  • Passionate about bringing people together

  • Empathetic and able to build strong relationships

  • Experience in planning and managing internal communications and engagement, ideally in an organisation with a remote/hybrid model

  • Basic graphic design skills and proficiency in graphic design software. This includes the ability to create visually appealing communication materials, such as posters, infographics, and digital assets

  • The ability to work across the full range of communications, using multimedia channels and technologies, including content creation, marketing, digital and social media. Software and apps including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Intranet Platforms, Workplace from Meta and Survey Tools.

  • Experience in providing input and strategic direction for social media channels, with a specific focus on LinkedIn

  • Experience of working directly with people including the executive board

  • Experience working or leading on change programmes in the space of DE&I or well-being, This role can be based at either our Daventry or Peterborough office on a hybrid basis, please note you will be required to spend a minimum of 2 days in the Daventry office.
