Full Job Description

We have exciting opportunity for a process driven individual to join our Imaging Team as an Imaging Administrator. You will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of radiology patient appointments and organisation of diagnostic clinics.

This role is ideally suited to highly organised and patient focused administrator who has experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels both face to face and over the telephone and email.

This is a 37.5 hour per week role working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00. Shifts are either 08:00 -16:00, 10:00 - 18:00 and 12:00 - 20:00

Role Responsibilities

As an Imaging Administrator you will:

  • Organise and manage the day to day booking of Radiology patient appointments, effectively utilising the clinic sessions available.

  • Provide efficient and effective back office telephone and e-mail administration services in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Monitor the NHS e-mail for urgent referrals.

  • Welcome all patients, visitors, consultants and staff to the Radiology department and provide direction to other hospital departments when required and confirming all patient details.

  • Scan on to PAS all referrals and relevant paperwork received, in a timely manner., Take reassurance from knowing that your interviewer can often be as nervous as you. Be polite, honest and open, maintaining eye contact with them. Talk as clearly and confidently as you can and if you don't understand a question, ask for clarification. When answering, focus on positive experiences and be prepared to go into detail about your previous positions and your future aspirations.

  • Good level of general education

  • Previous experience within a similar, customer focused administrative / reception role

  • Good IT skills including Word and Excel

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills


  • Desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology

  • Experience with Radiology patient information and booking systems (RIS/PAS)
