An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Health and Safety Department as a full-time HSE & Compliance Manager, at Innovia Films, Wigton.

Innovia Films are a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films, supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.

What is this role?

We are looking for a HSE & Compliance Manager to join our HSE team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will partner with the organisation to deliver an exceptional H&S service to the Innovia Wigton, whilst driving a high performing safety culture across all areas of the business and ensuring that the plant operates and complies with all legal and regulatory compliance obligations.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

· Collaborate & partner with the whole business to define and implement the HSE strategy to ensure zero harm to people and the environment.

· Act as the Company's lead competent person for Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Compliance, and the Company Management System. Work continuously to improve the Company's Management System, Policies, Processes and Safety Culture.

· Continually monitor and interpret all changes to HSE regulations and legislation. Leading and driving organisational change where appropriate to ensure compliance.

· Continual improvement - ensure that all functional and site HSE improvement is effectively controlled and managed.

· Coach & mentor all managers to support their development and ensure they deliver against the devolved HSE activity to a high standard.

· To develop and maintain high level contacts with the appropriate legislative and regulatory authorities, such as the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Auditors, and the Local Authority.

· Lead all regulator inspections and Management System Audits, including overseeing the Site Audit Committee and demonstrating an own ability to audit.

· Promote a "World Class" positive workplace culture by proactively leading aligned to the organisational values to create a high performing workplace.

· Management / Leadership - support the development of management and leaders within the business through the alignment of development programs with the organisation's targeted safety culture.

Ideally, as the successful candidate for this role, you will have a diploma in Safety Management (NCRQ, BSCM NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications) along with an IEMA certificate. Experience in a manufacturing environment would also be desirable, along with process safety and fire safety management experience.

In addition to this, the ideal candidate should have a clean DBS record and be able to demonstrate key skills in continuous improvement, project management, stakeholder engagement, assessing risks, and demonstrating flexibility when required. A high degree of emotional intelligence, solid communication skills and prioritising the safety of all stakeholders are required attributes for the successful candidate.

The salary for this role will be up to £64,000 per annum,depending on relevant experience.

Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus 8 statutory bank holidays) per year.
