Horticulture & Gardening Apprenticeship

To support our head gardener with tasks in the garden. We need to keep our gardens neat, tidy and
presentable as this reflects us as a business. Weeding, planting, watering, dead heading, digging, pruning,
lawn mowing, etc. Basically caring for an over sized private garden with borders and large lawns.

Full vacancy description

• To support the managers, residents and staff in the home, in ensuring that a safe environment is


maintained through relevant landscape maintenance and monitoring of health and safety standards.

• To ensure that an environment is created, with the help of the owner, maintenance manager and CQC


manager that is of an acceptable and safe standard.

• To ensure that all relevant statutory responsibilities and duties are carried out, met and maintained.


i.e. reporting to RIDDOR or HSE aspects that affect the running of the home.

• To be a role model to all staff.

Specific vacancy requirements
Own transport is essential as we are not on a bus route. The A142 is not suitable for pedestrians and the
public footpath across the fen can be used by free roaming horses and cattle.

Male or Female candidates with an interest in pursuing a career in horticulture. Level 1 Certificate in
Horticulture Skills.
Level 2 Diploma in Practical Horticultural Skills.
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture.
