Full Job Description

Main Purpose: Responsible for assisting with maintenance of the organisations of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems, ensuring compliance through reporting, auditing and staff training as well as facilitating continuous improvement in all areas of HSEQ performance across all aspects of the business.

Main tasks and duties

HSEQ

· General administration of the HSEQ day to day duties and processes

· Assisting in the overall management of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.

· Involvement in formulating and drafting of risk assessments, safe work practices and COSHH assessments.

· Facilitating continuous improvement in HSEQ performance in all aspects of the business.

· Maintenance of all HSEQ documentation and systems in line BS EN ISO 9001, current legislation, and regulatory guidance.

· Taking part in training, toolbox talks and inductions.

· Provide staff with HSEQ support, advice, and information

· Undertake awareness campaigns

· Ensuring that relevant compliance information is effectively archived and managed.

· To ensure all company standards are maintained in line with BSI, ISO, BBA and CE/UKCA certification and systems.

· Monitor and report of the effectiveness in the implementation of corrective and protective actions from the relevant management system.

· Work towards 45001 and 14001 certifications

· Help to maintain the ISO 9001 certification.

· Liaise with external agencies/organisations to utilise specialised expertise for goods or services.

· To document, Identify and control non-conformities in all areas, this involves identifying root cause, reporting issues and closing out in a timely manner

· Conduct H&S, Environmental and quality checks in all departments when required

· Assist with calibration system and calibrate any equipment as required.

· Assist with proposals for Safe systems of work, tooling and manufacturing or testing equipment and machinery

· Conduct site visits or audit other sites in line with HSEQ requirements.

· Any other reasonable duties, as directed by the Department Manager.

Personal Health & Safety Awareness

All employees are required to-

· Take reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions with regard to Health & Safety

· Cooperate with Brett Martin Ltd, in all Health & Safety matters, policies and procedures etc. to enable Brett Martin Ltd to comply with its own Health & Safety duties.

· Use any machinery, equipment, dangerous substances, transport equipment, means of production or safety device in accordance with Health& Safety training and instruction.

· Inform Brett Martin Ltd of any work situation which may represent a serious and immediate danger to Health & Safety

· Inform Brett Martin Ltd of any short comings in the protection arrangements for Health & Safety.

· Ensure that all safety equipment is used and maintained in the correct way and any issues reported to the HSEQ Manager

Reporting

· The reporting of results or issues to the HSEQ Manager and any other interested parties.

Housekeeping

· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department

· The workplace must be kept neat and tidy at all times and all waste material or product dealt with, as directed, in a prompt manner.

· Ensure commitment to and compliance with Company HSEQ, TPM and 5S practices.

Discipline

· Ensure that you are aware of and comply with all Company regulations, as contained in the Employee Handbook, Work Instructions and other controlled documentation.

· Maintain acceptable standards of behaviour, attendance, time-keeping, etc., as detailed in the Employee Handbook and other control documentation.

Communications

· Ensure that communications are maintained at the highest possible level, keeping the management team informed of impending situations which could develop into more serious problems;

· Ensure all reports are completed and communicated in a timely manner

· Comply with the Company's Team Briefing process.

Other Duties

· The Assistant, may from time to time, be required to carry out other duties, as directed by the Department Manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £23,852.13 per year
