Full Job Description

The Health & Safety Advisor will provide technical and practical Health & Safety support to the Company through the maintenance, review, and application of H&S management system. This will be demonstrated by promoting the highest levels of legal compliance, risk management and consistently safe behaviours., · Providing Health and Safety Advice in all areas of legislation and take action in accordance to the company's legal guidelines.

· Managing the development of H&S policies and procedures working with the line managers and director.

· To manage the RIDDOR reporting procedure.

· Ensure that the correct process is in place and reviewed regularly so that in the event of an emergency, the application of first aid is suitable for specific requirements relevant to the number of employees.

· To ensure fire drills are carried out and tested in accordance with HSE recommendations.

· Booking any training courses needed, i.e. first aid

· Understand LOLER, PUWER, COSHH etc.

· Ad hoc duties (H&S Manual, updating and maintaining files etc)

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate/ or equivalent.

  • Health & Safety experience gained within a farm or agriculture environment (Desirable)

  • Experience preparing detailed risk assessments and method statements across a range of activities and disciplines.

  • Experience of providing H&S across a multi-site setting ( Essential).

  • The ability to understand complex tasks and challenge working methods in a constructive manner.

  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems.

  • Experience of auditing, and occupational hygiene/environmental monitoring would be desirable.


  • The successful candidate will be assertive, use own initiative, and able to evaluate differing working methods, in line with legislation, best practice and company procedures. Applicants must be a great communicator with a flexible, proactive approach to work.

    This is a part time permanent position working 3 days a week
