Health Care Assistant (HCA)

You will join on a full time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week and term time only 33 weeks).

The postholder will be responsible to assist and support the nurse team in delivering pupil healthcare

To maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the health centre through own good practice and through supervising the work of the health centre cleaner

• Report to the nurses on duty at handover to liaise on any pupil care or any tasks that require immediate attention


• Use of appropriate cleaning products and equipment to clean patient rooms and all communal and clinical areas within the health centre, cleaning to NHS hospital standard and that cleaning also complies with College cleaning procedures and training.


• In the absence of a cleaner being available- to carry out the daily cleaning schedule for the health centre


• Ensuring that patient beds are changed and prepared for in-coming pupils


• Daily liaison with the catering department in order to provide meals for pupils who are being cared for in the health centre and for staff on duty
  
  The successful incumbent must have


• Relevant trade qualification: Food Hygiene Certificate, training in health care/ HCA training


• UK full driving license


• Experience of working within a customer focused environment
