Full Job Description

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 2 Health Care Assistant to join theEmergency Gynaecology Unit (EGU), at Newham UniversityHospital, Barts Health within the Women and Children's Division.

    The post holder will work closely with the nursing team, chaperoning in the early pregnancy scanning clinics.

    You will be expected to:
  • Provide direct assistance to the registered nursing staff when required, safely utilizing electronic equipment and mechanical/manual equipment.

  • Undertake the role of a chaperone within the early pregnancy scanning clinics.

  • Undertake and record clinical activities and observations, as directed by the Registered Nurse.

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Be flexible and reliable


  • The Health Care Assistant works under the direction/supervision of the qualified nurses to plan and prioritise patient care within a clinic setting. In addition, the Health care Assistant is proactive in monitoring and anticipating patients needs within the boundaries of the job description.
