Full Job Description

The person appointed will be responsible for the management of Industry Placements and Work Experience across all curriculum areas, including T level placements. The role includes managing CEIAG across the college, including ensuring maintaining the Matrix accreditation and working to meet the Gatsby standards.

The role involves working closely with Curriculum teams, Business Development and Employers, to ensure a high-quality experience for learners and employers.

They will manage and coordinate obtaining suitable industry placements and work experience opportunities for students; manage the process when students are out in placement, ensuring students are safeguarded when in placement using appropriate risk-based approaches.

  • A recognised qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance at Level 6 (or willing to work towards within 2 years)


  • A degree or significant relevant experience in a related role


  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths


  • EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of successfully leading and managing staff and conducting appraisals/progress development reviews


  • Extensive experience of delivering careers education and vocational guidance within an educational setting.


  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Careers Strategy, Gatsby Benchmarks, Matrix Quality Standard and Quality in Careers Standard Award


  • Knowledge and experience of the requirements of work experience and industry placements for students on study programmes and T Levels

  • Experience of working with young people with a learning difficulty / disability during transition, promoting high aspirations and securing positive outcomes


  • Experience of building and maintaining partnerships with internal staff and external professionals, companies, higher education institution, FE, and training provider


  • Experience of work of working with SEND learners and education health care plans


  • Experience to design and develop careers related interactive session and resources for learners of all abilities


  • Experience of working collaboratively to embed careers in the curriculum


  • Knowledge of available careers resources, websites, online information sources


  • Experience of Microsoft office products, especially Excel and Word Knowledge and experience of the UCAS Apply System
