Title

- Head of Business Development - RM Relay (Royal Mail's specialist delivery network)

Location

- Nationwide (Home based with travel as required to Royal Mail or client sites)

As the Head of Business Development - RM Relay, you will be responsible for Relay's commercial growth agenda, with specific focus on unlocking the healthcare sector by leading our overall commercial operation, across the client base. You will make major breakthroughs in pipeline, especially in health & improve account management competencies to ensure client retention and growth across Relay by mapping & penetrating markets in the private and public health sectors. You will be both an individual contributor and team leader responsible for opening new accounts and account management of the existing Relay client portfolio.

This is a newly created and pivotal role to help Royal Mail further penetrate the Healthcare and Medical Sector's, which is a major goal for the Relay business unit.

Key Accountabilities

-You will be responsible for driving new business, with a key focus on the healthcare sector, mapping & changing Relay's footprint to build access in the market, opening new channels across both public and private sectors.

-You will drive pipeline with clear progress in healthcare - identifying stakeholders, opening opportunities, and negotiating commercials with clients and the Royal Mail business.

-Lead and develop the Relay commercial team into the healthcare sector, setting strategy, coaching & building knowledge around the sector, skills and best practice.

-Ensure monthly financial score-carding and reporting is used to drive insight on client issues, highlight opportunities. You will report this back to Senior Leadership to drive strategy and improve sales and a network pipeline.

-Act as a fulcrum of annual planning for the network, clearly laying out revenue, contribution and spend plans in advance, to allow structured conversation and forecasting.

About you

-You will have experience in Business Development and account management into the Healthcare and/or medical industry.

-Proven capability to identify sales opportunities, build networks and deliver new business wins.

-Confident in mapping and planning sales into new business'.

-You will be experienced in financial planning and sales and growth forecasting.

-As a people manager, you will lead a growing team of three. Leadership experience is a nice to have, but not essential if you meet the other criteria.
