Full Job Description

The role of Group Infrastructure Project Manager is to coordinate both internal and external teams, to deliver a wide range of Infrastructure projects within the Digital & Technology department. In this role you will be responsible for handling the entire Infrastructure project lifecycle.

As a Project Manager you will lead your project(s) to deliver outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints, manage and lead team members day-to-day and keep key stakeholders up to date, building and maintaining those relationships.

Main Duties

  • Understanding of commercial and procurement, solutions development, business change / implementation, business case development, asset allocation and knowledge management

  • Engage the business to understand the solution and gain alignment on benefits and scope

  • Lead the Infrastructure Team to deliver Projects to plan, utilising tools effectively to do this

  • Proven experience within Digital Change / Transformation projects

  • Managing a range of small to large projects and associated teams

  • Managing the day-day delivery of tasks according to the agreed plans and ensure that project milestones are achieved on time

  • To organise the necessary resources to deliver the relevant project by liaising with the appropriate people, including those from third parties, other IT functions, business user groups etc.

  • Management of Project plans, RAID logs and financial budgets

  • Creation of Project Documentation using PMO Framework

  • Management of cross-function teams across the wider business

  • Preparation of funding requests, release approvals and other necessary processes, as well as active participation in the related meetings

  • Participate and present when required in the Change Approval Board (CAB)

  • To work with the project team, suppliers, and other stakeholders to keep the project on track

  • Works with partners and business stakeholders to ensure solution scope and transition approach is fully defined, understood, agreed and successfully implemented.

  • Clearly communicate status updates to the line manager and stakeholders, including early identification of issues and solutions

  • Production of project status reports for stakeholder communication and project team alignment

  • To actively support the development of improved management processes, ensuring effective control, governance, and resource planning in line with business requirements and demand

  • Consults regularly with Digital & Technology staff and departmental colleagues to evaluate if developed solutions are being used to their fullest advantage and yielding the greatest possible efficiencies

    Experience as a Project Manager in a large Global organisation

  • Experience of delivering technology infrastructure projects

  • Strong customer relationship building skills and ability to liaise with/manage 3rd

  • Experience of Risk Management and comfortable with escalation of such risk to PMO

  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders up to regional and global management levels

  • Experience of managing change within business and IT functions

  • Experience of managing project scope

  • Ability to organise and manage own time according to agreed project priorities and deadlines

  • Analytical approach to assessing options and providing recommendations

  • Ability to act at pace

  • Knowledge and proven use of Project management methodology - PRINCE2, Agile/Waterfall

  • Willingness to travel as required by projects
