Full Job Description

Keltbray Energy are looking for graduate engineers to undertake an on-job development role towards becoming a substation design engineer. The role involves working as part of a substations design team, to deliver the BIM (Building Information Management) and CAD (Computer Aided Design) designs for secondary and primary electrical systems. Projects ranging across renewables, battery energy storage systems, transmission, and distribution.

Duties and responsibilities

· Acquire working knowledge of designing primary or secondary systems on a

substation, as enabled by the on-job training programme.

· Master the applicable CAD and design tools.

· Develop a working knowledge of CDM and safety standards and procedures.

· Develop a working experience of delivering engineering and design documents as

guided by the senior engineer.

· Work on assignments to deliver designs as directed by the senior engineer.

· Carry out site surveys and coordinate work with site teams as required.

· Production of 3D models and CAD technical drawings.

· Handling of documentation at all points in the project lifecycle.

· Provide administrative support to the engineers in relation to project related tasks.

· Ensure performance is in line with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for on-time

delivery, requirements management and right-first time.

· Ensure design work is delivered to the expected quality and meeting KPI targets.

· Ensure design work is delivered on-time as per the project timelines.

· Ensure design work is delivered in line with projects work information and employer

requirements.

· Ensure design work is delivered in line with applicable standards and specifications.

· University degree in electrical power systems and machines or related majors.

· Knowledge of CAD tools and the BIM environment.

· Experience in using Microsoft office and SharePoint tools.

· Proven ability to work in groups.

· Collaborative and clear Communicator.

· Willingness to learn and develop.

· Basic knowledge of general electrical works standards and regulations.

· Basic knowledge of substations and primary plant, protection, control, SCADA,

transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing, and lighting standards and

regulations.
