Full Job Description

We currently have a job share vacancy (18.5 hours per week - Wednesday pm, Thursday all day and Friday all day) for a Fostering Support Officer in the Countywide Fostering Service for team 3, which is based primarily in the South of the County. You will be responsible for providing support to supervising social workers and foster carers for the annual review process which supports children and young people in care.

The tasks asked of you will be varied but will include being the consistent point of contact for foster carers, supervising social workers and other agencies, arranging and monitoring annual reviews and associated tasks such as verifying DBS's, arranging payments, supporting with training requests and the distribution of key communications to foster carers and various agencies. You will need to be approachable, enthusiastic, and flexible as there may be some occasional work outside of office hours. In addition to this, you will also need to be able to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, have excellent recording, ICT, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In return we can offer a supportive, stable, and friendly team environment with opportunities for further development, networking, and training. You will need a driving licence due to the nature of the post (a taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this), and some knowledge of safeguarding children and children in care would be desirable.
