Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Finance Analyst looking for a new challenge within an interesting business? Keen on driving costs down, understanding discrepancies and being able to add value? Are you comfortable with analysing large sets of data and reporting findings and recommendations to the SMT in an easily digestible manner?

A privately owned Retail and Wholesale business has a newly created role that will focus on understanding the cost drivers of the business and help to implement efficiencies to minimise wastage and overspend. This will be through analysing and investigating discrepancies, reviewing contracts and embarking on an ongoing project to reduce any unnecessary wastage and ensure the best financials are in place for both the company and its operational needs.

Reporting to one of the Executive team, this role will take both a big picture viewpoint as well as deep dives into all areas of the business, including down to store level. It will scrutinise all costs on the balance sheet, look into any anomalies and cost spikes, partner with the business to gain insight and understanding and work to define and implement improvements.

To be a suitable candidate you will have a solid background in financial analysis with a strong understanding of cost drivers alongside experience of improving cost inefficiency and implementing change to reduce this. If you're a qualified accountant that would be beneficial but its not essential, however, proven experience and an ability to demonstrate the required skill set is!

You will be naturally inquisitive, have strong communication skills and confident interpersonal, allowing you to be able to influence others, gain credibility and the confidence of others to obtain the relevant information and drive change. You will have

You will need to be great at reporting writing and be able to present your findings back in a clear and digestible format, meaning strong Excel & Powerpoint skills are essential.

Experience gained within retail/wholesale, consumer products would be highly beneficial but not essential.

You will have great attention to detail, be able to work in a logical, practical and adaptable manner and be a self starter. You will have a proven background in partnering with the business, be able to influence others, add value and implement changes accordingly!
