Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fibre Engineer on a permanent basis for work in the Region of Lancashire, Manchester and Leicestershire. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cabling/splicing and testing of telecoms networks. The candidate will need to have the specific accreditations and certificates for this role as they will be working on the BT networks and also other ISP's. Reporting directly to the Fibre Manager, the Fibre Engineer will assist with various projects that involve the fibre elements of the business.

What you'll do
The following reflect the main tasks associated with the role and is not intended to be exhaustive.

  • Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working as an individual and as a part of team to achieve targets and KPI's.

  • Adherence with Health and Safety legislation

  • Splicing fibre and testing at multiple points throughout the installation

  • Working at heights and in the underground network

    As a Fibre Engineer your main skills and experience will include:

  • A Full Valid UK Driving Licence

  • Experience with ladders or MEWP to work at height

  • Experience in managing stock level

  • Hold a valid NRSWA Streetworks Operative Unit 2 card

  • Hold or have held the following Openreach overhead, underground and fibre accreditations (pia) SA001, SA002, Confined Spaces - We can assist in requiring any accreditations you may not have

  • Have extensive experience with cabling, splicing and testing within the BT PIA Network

  • Confident working at heights and in the underground network

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to assess risks and identify hazards, with a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.
