Engineer

Are you a motivated and talented Assistant Engineer looking to progress and develop your career? We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join our forward-thinking local authority using the latest Highway Improvement techniques to manage its network.

Based within North Somerset, boasting both beautiful coastlines and rural countryside, you will play a key role in this essential function to improve our highways across the region. Your role will be to design production and concepts as well as provide support to the Team Manager for Neighbourhood Traffic and Road Safety on various design and improvement schemes, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and play your part within a successful team.

As the Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Design production


• Assist in project / contract management.


• Feasibility and other technical reports under supervision.


• Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options with guidance when required


• Produce design concepts, design details, drawings, specifications, contract documents and other technical documents for small schemes or assist as part of larger schemes


• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring and reporting of project resources


• Ensure innovation and best practice is adopted where practicable


• Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards.


Ideally, successful candidates will have level 5 qualification (degree level)
