EDU P&E SME

Join our team of next generation thinkers! A central role to JLR's future, enabling the refinement of our future BEV propulsion systems through providing technical knowledge, design support and guidance, issue resolution validation and the development of our IP (Body of Knowledge) - all of which must be delivered using an agile mindset and programme delivery. The SME is also expected to play a part in the development of JLR's staff through mentoring, writing and delivering training material

As part of the Technical Specialist/SME community you will be a functional resource for the company. This roles includes developing the future company strategy for processes, components and systems ultimate refinement. You will be a custodian of elements of our key technology for current and future products. You will be expected to teach, mentor and present at global conferences.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

You will support the development of a business aligned vision for technical delivery of the EDU performance and efficiency, define and protect the core body of knowledge of the EDU performance and efficiency. You will be the technical review to support sign off of the systems at each gateway, lead role for developing new technologies and new applications of current technologies. You will have a thorough understanding of both internal and external customer attribute and technology requirements.

• In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in all areas of EP EDU performance & efficiency but specialising in system interactions and optimisation - this must include competitor's intelligence, optimisation and design for Performance & Efficiency, testing for Performance & Efficiency and in-vehicle strategies


• Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and tools


• Expert in the area of Electric Powertrain Performance & Efficiency - focusing on BEV (EDUs, Inverters, emachines, transmissions, thermal management for EDUs)


• Detail knowledge of how to optimise a powerunit calibration for efficiency and performance


• Expert problem solving skills
