Full Job Description

  • Plan and deliver activities to support children's learning and development to ensure their involvement and progression in the learning environment

  • Build strong relationships with parents by sharing information with them about their children's development

  • Complete training courses and keep up to date with current childcare practises including appropriate supervision at all times

  • Work with all age ranges of children to respect the confidentiality of information received about each family

  • Ensure the room has high standards of health and safety in all areas - Be prepared to help when and where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery

  • Work with and follow advice from qualified staff and the management team

    Wakoos Centre4Children is seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to join the existing staff team. Wakoos is a committee run day nursery, pre-school and after school club with two sites, one in Billingshurst and one in Petworth., Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard

  • On the job training including Health and Safety Practices

  • Functional Skills English and maths if required, Opportunities to progress through higher level training such as Level 5, Foundation Degree and BA Hons Degree in Early Years. Other in house opportunities available such as SENDCO and Supervisor, Effective communication, Good Communication, Teamwork approach, Enthusiasm, High Energy Level, Willingness to learn, Ability to Multi-Task, GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 9-4) Desired

    • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 9-4) Desired, Early years practitioner

    WAKOOS Centre4Children runs a day nursery, preschool, breakfast club, after school club and holiday club at 2 sites in Billingshurst and Petworth, West Sussex. WAKOOS was founded by 2 members of staff from the Weald School in 1988, wanting to ensure their children had care during work hours. WAKOOS stands for Weald Activities for Kids Out of School. WAKOOS now provides childcare to almost 300 families in Billingshurst, Petworth and the surrounding areas.
