Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communities & Partnerships team within Children's Services as part of a dedicated link into the new Family Hub arrangements for Norfolk. The role is full-time (37 hours per week) primarily covering the King's Lynn area.

You will be a key part of our prevention and early help workforce promoting and supporting the development and safeguarding of children, young people and families.

You will be working alongside local partners, district community programmes and initiatives to support the needs of families with an age range of 0-19 and up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs.

About the role:

You will be required to:

  • Provide support alongside community partners to children, young people, and their families through the delivery of early help support as part of Norfolk's integrated Family Hub model. Working collaboratively with partners and to support the development of community place-based service offer that responds to local need.


  • Work with local organisations and families in communities, helping them build community led provision and peer to peer support enabling more families to access locally available support at the earliest opportunity.


  • Assist with identifying children, young people and families within the community that require support and initiating the most appropriate early help response, providing access to the local early help offer or initiating early help assessment and planning where required.


  • Advise & support the workforce on the initiation and delivery of early help assessment & plans, sharing good practice, promoting collaboration and the coordination of team around the family approaches.


  • Excellent face to face communication skills will be essential to the role.

    You will need to be able to travel for work and operate from a range of locations across the district working alongside partner agencies and families.

    Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check to assess the suitability of candidates to work with children or other vulnerable groups.
