Full Job Description

Are you outgoing and friendly and passionate about your work, if so, you could be the ideal caring Personal Assistant that is required to support a man in his own home and get him active in the community.

The post is for 6 hours a week which will be worked flexibly as agreed in advance in line with the needs of the employer.
The aim of this direct payment is to reduce the client's social isolation and help him with regaining some independent living, the client has poor mobility following several strokes and will be completely dependent on your help to go into town and enjoy the things we all enjoy, Coffee, going to the bank, attending appointments etc.
As his PA you will be re -opening the door to his social freedom, giving him back the choices we all take for granted.

This post is funded by the local authority through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the Client to remain independently living at home with support.

Main duties

  • Provide the means for him to socialise outside in the community.

  • Assist with meal planning and preparation.

  • Assist with some light domestic cleaning

  • Reduce social isolation.

  • Ensure the clients safety and wellbeing at all times when on duty.

    If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
    Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
    You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
    You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
