Full Job Description

  • Clear trading plan by respective market is co-ordinated and executed for the fiscal year, ensuring we're planned and ready for reactiveness. This includes suggesting markdowns based on data and promotions.

  • Working closely with the core merchandising, content, retail, and marketing teams to ensure that the marketing calendar is aligned with key trading periods.

  • Lead point of contact for day-to-day trading and operational challenges relating to product.

  • Outbound planning on order forecasting.

  • Along with working with submitting quarterly forecasts to commercial finance team and ensuring reforecasts are achievable.


  • Trading
  • Reporting daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly on performance: net sales, GP%, conversion and sessions.

  • Continually monitor relevant competitors and inspiration sources to report to the wider team.

  • Ensure brand guidelines and creative consistency is executed all digital channels with the latest campaign and marketing imagery.

  • Ensure that the customer journey is smooth and effective from all marketing touch points through to purchase.

  • Collate weekly trading actions from respective teams for presentation to senior stakeholders.

  • Annotating events throughout the year such as key launches, promotions, irregular activity and many more.

  • Supporting the P&L ensuring targets are achieved and managed.


  • Teamwork
  • Working with the performance teams and constantly analysing key website metrics including visitor numbers, get to product, add to basket, checkout completion and conversion rates. This includes all elements of the experience: search, navigation, photography, copy, mobile and kiosks.

  • Working with digital lead to implement best in class digital customer acquisition techniques, to ensure that high volumes of new customers are acquired profitably by the business through all appropriate digital marketing channels.

  • Lead on all merchandise and cross functional projects that impact trade.

  • Work alongside the merchandise planning team on key product insight to share cross functionally.

  • Lead point of contact for supply chain and operational challenges relating to product.

  • Develop the team - trading and digital merchandising teams.


  • Role objectives and KPI's:

  • Train, develop and motivate team.

  • Build strong relationships with B&M team.

  • Build skills & development from working with wider trading team.

  • Identify opportunities.

  • Identify threats and look to resolve.

    Analytical thinker with the ability to spot potential issues and provide effective solutions for review before escalation.

  • Effective leadership and experience of managing a team of more than 3 individuals.

  • Good understanding of Excel and PowerPoint. SQL knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Effective communication skills - to the point with stakeholders.

  • Problem-solving capabilities.

  • Highly organised, good prioritisation and time management skills.

  • Experience within a sports/fashion retailer is advantageous.

  • A good grasp of trainer knowledge is an advantage.

  • Can handle change due to reactiveness of the market.
