PBSL Group is looking to recruit a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our ever-growing Marketing team!

What will you be doing?

The PBSL Group is a specialist builders merchant distributing products to both the building trade and DIY homeowners all across the UK via a constantly growing platform of ecommerce sites. This platform is supported by a large distribution hub and four additional branch locations. We are an innovative and well-structured business that leads the market in its chosen sectors. Established in 2009, our growing ecommerce offering is now a multi-million pound business in its own right.

Digital marketing is at the core of our business strategy and we are constantly striving to develop new ideas, embrace best practice and hence push our business forward through this medium.

As a Digital Marketing Assistant, you will support and contribute to the planning, creation and delivery of digital marketing and website development initiatives across our group brand portfolio, focusing primarily on product and website management. You will be pivotal in supporting the maintenance and development of the company digital information and intelligence systems, and will help shape the product and pricing data architecture in our group.

You will report to the Marketing Manager and you will be a key player in our marketing team. Occasionally, you will also be involved in supporting offline marketing activities.,

  • Drive the implementation of our New Product Development strategy by creating and maintaining product records in our ecommerce and stock management platforms, and optimising all product attributes and descriptions to improve the purchasing journey

  • Support on SEO activities: content ideas and creation, content upload and optimisation, technical SEO implementation, monitoring and analysis

  • Assist with competitor analysis and monitoring on price and product offering, identifying opportunities and implementing them

  • Assist with the management and maintenance of our affiliate marketing programme

  • Assist with website development projects by contributing to the user journey analysis, content and database restructure

  • Use web analytics software to monitor digital marketing performance and make recommendations for improvement

  • Support the marketing team with monthly and weekly web reports

  • Keep up to date with industry trends regarding audiences, marketing channels and marketing activities by reading and contributing to online content

  • Assist the team with ad-hoc tasks

    Ability to learn and operate in a range of digital information systems and tools to maintain information and to support service delivery (ecommerce platforms, CMS, CRM, financial and stock systems). This includes searching, storing, integrating and organising data; data entry and maintenance; data analysis to identify trends and insights

  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication

  • Excellent analytical skill, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the bigger picture

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required

  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness

  • Proactive and inquisitive, comfortable in challenging norms and questioning data

  • Ability to collaborate across various departments including sales, IT, procurement, marketing and finance

  • A team player ready to collaborate with and help the team as required

  • The role is office based with a lot of communication by phone, email and conference calls; we are currently operating a hybrid working policy, with three days in the office and two days at home, Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
