As part of our Civil Works Programme, the Engineering & Technical function plays a vital role in defining design, engineering, and technical requirements.,

  • Define technical requirements and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Manage technical aspects of design changes and open points, ensuring compliance with governance processes.

  • Provide technical assurance for end-to-end design and support risk management processes.

  • Coordinate technical interfaces with other parties and ensure compliance with engineering and design processes.

  • Support the Engineering & Technical Project Manager in budget management, schedule updates, and contract management.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to deliver high-quality design solutions.


  • Nuclear Safety Responsibilities: This role may have nuclear safety responsibilities detailed in the Nuclear Baseline.

  • Knowledge of heavy civil engineering structures, external works, and/or design management.

  • Experience in providing technical assistance within delivery teams and working with technical suppliers.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.


  • Essential:
  • Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent

  • Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE) or working towards chartership


  • Desirable:
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and/or chartered engineer status (MICE or MIStructE).

  • Experience in the Project Management of large and complex projects such as nuclear projects (e.g. Hinkle
