Control and Instrumentation Engineer

We're looking for aspiring, proactive and hands-on Engineers who have experience in the Control & Instrumentation discipline. For example, if you're a practical C&I Technician looking to move in to engineering, this would be a great match for you. This role will provide a supported and mentored environment, with future opportunities to move to other areas of Engineering, like Systems or Component.

In our team, you'll be ensuring our Plant is operated, tested and maintained safely and effectively. You'll be working with a team of safety conscious and highly motivated engineers to uphold company and industry standards.

Pay, benefits and culture

We're offering a salary of £40,069 - £84,892, with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. You'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you'll be doing

As one of our Engineering team members, you will:

• Specify and optimise maintenance on assigned plant to ensure required levels of reliability and system safety functions are maintained


• Identify plant risks and mitigate these through maintenance and investment


• Maintain and develop knowledge within your core discipline whilst cross skilling into other disciplines


• Provide technical expertise and knowledge to troubleshooting activities, ensuring robust corrective actions are in place to correct issues and prevent recurrence


• Support outage (plant Shutdown) preparation and outage delivery


• Preparing and managing plant modifications.
  
  The minimum qualification for this role is an HNC (or Level 4 equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and it may be advantageous if you hold a relevant degree. You'll need an understanding of engineering principles, although we have various levels of entry from experienced engineers through to recent graduates starting their careers in engineering.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
