Full Job Description

As the Continuous Improvement Manger, you will be championing Continuous Improvement mentality across our Stockport and Frome manufacturing sites.

You will collaborate with all teams within both sites to identify and share best practices, looking for improvements to increase yield or identify savings, add value through coaching and developing the culture on both sites and support plant leadership in change management and performance improvements with CI tools such as Lean thinking and 6 Sigma methodologies in line with the business Johnson Controls Management System (JCMS).

How you will do it

  • Your days will include working with all levels of the plants to establish and execute an improvement roadmap toward conversion cost gap reduction, assess the current state of the plant's operations and support the development of future state in correspondence with implementation planning and drive progression towards it.

  • You will also be coaching the team on CI philosophies, facilitating project teams and ensuring process owner involvement in project identification and execution as well as providing leadership to the teams through goal setting, follow up and feedback and assessing and driving team members to develop them.

  • This role will see you working closely with the Plant Managers in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems (Such as our JCMS) and designing creative solutions to continuously improve the plant.

  • There is a requirement to oversee both plants in Stockport and Frome so there will be some travel, about 25%, or as you deem necessary as the role develops. This is an ideal opportunity to develop your leadership skills and join a growing organisation who are fully embracing a Lean mentality.

    Degree Level Qualification

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or experience as a Lean Implementer

  • Must be able to give examples of implementing continuous improvement

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing, Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Degree Qualified in Engineering

  • Worked within an Operational Management or Quality Management role in past
