Full Job Description

Have you considered expanding your Radiology experience in a place where your initiatives are valued?

This is an excellent opportunity to join our team of Consultants and become part of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust working cross site at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. While all sub-specialities will be considered, an interest in Breast, Paediatrics, Urology, MSK, and Nuclear Medicine is particularly welcome.

Located in the western part of Cambridgeshire, both hospital sites are accessible by road or train within easy commute distance from London, Cambridge, Leicester or Birmingham.

Our Radiology department is UKAS accredited and is pioneer in using Artificial intelligence in a few subspecialities like Cardiac, stroke and lung nodules imaging.

You will have full and specialist registration (with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview). If you are UK trained, you must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. If you are non-UK trained, you will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.

We are committed to ensure flexibility in working patterns for a better work-life balance to all our staff. If you consider working less than full time, we are strongly encouraging you to apply.

The sessional commitments are 10 PAs (8.5 DCC+ 1.5 SPA) with 0.75 PAs on-call commitments. The job-plan would be modified by agreement to take account of appointee's preferred schedule and departmental needs. The initial job plan will be reviewed after a period of three months and annually thereafter

Your main responsibilities will be to provide a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues and other professional groups within the Trust. You will take responsibility for leading the radiology contribution to one or more cancer multidisciplinary team meetings.

You will accept responsibility for compliance with IRMER along with the radiation protection supervisor and the radiation protection officers.

You will liaise with medical staff and clinical teams in other specialities, participate in the regular clinical and multidisciplinary team meetings, and postgraduate activities of the Trust.

As a senior member of staff, you will participate in the teaching, audit and other professional activities of the department such as clinical governance programmes and in the Royal College of Radiologists' continuing professional development (CPD) programme, or equivalent.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust provides acute care to our local communities via two District General Hospitals in Peterborough and Huntingdon, and a community hospital in Stamford.

We are promoting flexible working and a health work/home life balance. Agile working options are automatically considered for all roles within the Trust.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and candidates from our local communities.

Your package with us includes a lot more than just your pay and here are a few of the additional benefits that are available to you as an employee:

  • Relocation allowance in line with the Trust policy

  • Access to the NHS Pension Scheme

  • Generous Holiday Entitlement, starting at 27 days a year (for full time workers) plus bank/public holidays

  • Free staff car parking on all our hospital sites during this financial year

  • In-house Physiotherapy Services

  • Career development and training opportunities

  • Emotional Wellbeing Service covering a range of online support, access to mobile apps and 24/7 counselling services
