Full Job Description

This post is a newly developed post in addition to the current complement of 8 other Emergency Medicine consultants., The ED consultant team is responsible for the provision of Emergency Department services at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. The ED team includes 5 trainee registrars, 3 specialty doctors, a senior clinical fellow and ACPs heading up the senior decision maker tier. Along with Emergency Nurse Practitioners, 10 junior doctors and 4 F1s. The team works closely with colleagues from inpatient specialty teams to deliver appropriate, largely pathway driven, ambulatory care.

We are particularly looking for a candidate with a strong interest in paediatrics to help drive and develop our new paediatric area within the department.

Consultant
We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales's capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons.
