Full Job Description

The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students' experience is second to none.

Role Purpose

Situated in the Collaborations Department, this role is key in providing administration to the collaborations team and working with The University of Buckingham Faculties and Collaborative Partners.

The role is the first point of contact to internal staff, students (internal and external), Collaborative Partners and visitors, via telephone calls, emails, and other enquiries into the office.

The postholder will provide administrative support to the Collaborations department that underpins the proper management, quality and academic standards of collaborative partners, in line with internal Buckingham procedures, OfS (Office for Students) and CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) requirements.

The post holder will take minutes, make arrangements for meetings, triage enquiries into the department, raise purchase orders, organise travel and provide administrative assistance to all Collaborations Department Staff.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Strong administrative skills including attention to detail and the ability to take notes to a high level of accuracy.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including SharePoint.

  • Good working knowledge of online conferencing programmes such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.

  • Experience of working in a higher education institution in a similar role.

  • Experience working with external institution/organisations particularly those that operate overseas.

  • Current experience or a good awareness of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications and OfS registration requirements.
