Full Job Description

To assess the sexual and reproductive health (SRH), needs of patients attending our integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) Services

To work within iCaSH offering advice and treatments/procedures for patients who require SRH services.

To act in a responsible manner, being courteous at all times, with sensitivity towards the needs of the individual patient, recognising their right to dignity and privacy.

To support training and education to professionals, students and other agencies.

To work as a member of our iCaSH service with a willingness to undertake further training in SRH as required to support service development.

This is an extremely exciting time to be working within iCaSH Bedfordshire. As the demand for our service grows, we are looking for a motivated & enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a strong team-working ethic to join our team.

You will be a NMC Registered Nurse or a NMC Registered midwife with a nationally recognised qualification in Sexual Health and or Contraception(i.e DFSRH/ BASHH STIF) and a Letter of Competence in Intra Uterine Technique or willingness to undertake this training.

You will also have recent experience of working in sexual health (Contraception, GUM or equivalent), and ability to demonstrate competency in supply of treatments by Patient Group Directions (PGDs) & be able to work autonomously.

The role will include working Monday to Friday, some evenings and also Saturdays from 9-1 on a rotational basis and will require the successful candidate to regularly work at our clinics in Dunstable and Bedford. The ability to travel across the county is therefore an essential part of the job.
