Full Job Description

Due to a sustained period of growth, generated from the success of our existing team, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Client Administrator to join us in our Manchester City Centre office. This is a permanent role and for the right person the perfect development role with both exposure and progression limited only by your own individual abilities and commitment.

The team you will join forms part of the overall group that services a multitude of different people and businesses via the core six divisions we work from.

Over the past ten years there has been growth across all departments and with this the team has grown from twenty-five to over hundred and fifty employees.

Despite this a friendly, sociable and feel-good environment is maintained and the specific team you will be joining has a young core with a can do attitude where all sides support each other.

With the everchanging accounting and tax landscape here in the UK the challenges we face on all fronts change every single day, so you will never be far from the chance to learn something new or let your existing abilities shine.

Do you have a strong work ethic, inner motivation, enjoy being challenged and want to learn on the job in an environment that's built for success then . . . read on for the chance to join a top 100 accountancy firm that still has its staff as it's number one priority!

Your role with us . . .

The role will see you join our Medical division and take an important role within our Client Administration Team. The day to day will involve supporting our clients in this sector, who differ significantly across the division but that do primarily operate under the same healthcare banner.

On top of any existing experience in a finance space you will also gain an understanding of the different aspects of administration required with accounting in practice. With multiple stakeholders such as HMRC, Companies House, Finance Providers and Mortgage Lenders alongside the usual regulatory compliance there is plenty to learn and lots of areas to shine with that.

There will be a reliance on technology, but you will be supported to use your existing experience whilst learning from those around you about how different systems interact and how each process is to be completed. Ideally you will then be able to support our transition to an online based platform that will automate a number of tasks that centre around invoicing, cash collection, new client onboarding and company administration.

From there whether it's taking on further responsibility or managing the team itself the progression opportunities continue to be created in a positive environment that allows the staff to grow with the firm. We hope you can now share the journey with us.

Your main responsibilities . . .

After a detailed induction, and chance to find your feet and meet the team, a personal development plan will be created for you. This will be a key reference point to help you focus your energy and drive into the right areas and encourage you to realise your long-term goal of becoming a successful administrator within the firm.

Life will be fast paced, engaging and structured. with ongoing interaction across the team and the department. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • The onboarding of new clients across the division. This will include issuing professional engagement letters, meeting our AML requirements, completing credit checks and adding each to our database thereafter. This is often the first time new clients see us in action so it's vitally important to be organised and efficient here.

  • Liaising with other accountancy firms to obtain a timely handover of information for our clients so we can take over their affairs from engaging with us. Given our ongoing growth this is a regular and very important task. Also on the rare occasion where we disengage with a client you will also be required to facilitate a handover of our client information to a third party.

  • Supporting clients as a first responder wherever possible, or simply pointing them to one of the wider team, who will likely be better placed to support with any questions being asked. The key being to build trust and present confidence to our clients in the early stages when they may not have been allocated to one of the accounts team directly.

  • Existing client administration, liaising with HMRC and Companies House respectively to organise what's required within given deadlines. By ensuring we update any changes to our clients details both timely and accurately it minimises any disruption for our clients directly.

  • Maintaining internal client databases to ensure the team are consistently accessing accurate information to support their roles with managing the clients directly. Proactively highlighting any errors and supporting the team wherever possible in this area.

  • Supporting the wider team with a variety of office administration tasks such as the preparation of generic letters and completion of forms and references as required, There will also be the distribution of the electronic post to the team and the need to be diligent and efficient with that task.

  • As you would expect though every day is different and naturally you'll find areas you enjoy more than others and these will become more prominent features of your role here with us.

  • Previous experience working in an office based role, 12 months or more.

  • Previous experience in a client facing role, both verbal and written (not specific to accountancy).

  • Previous experience working in a finance based role and liaising with government departments (preferred).

  • Comfortable in managing multiple tasks and priorities on a day to day basis.

  • Strong IT, communication and literacy skills.

  • Your people skills . . .

Our existing team is built around a core set of values and we look for as many of these as possible within those who join us. Again, every individual is different but if you can say yes to any of the below then it's a good start:
  • Attitude - Do you have a positive impact on those around you?

  • Commitment - Do you strive to complete anything set?

  • Ethic - Do you work hard as a given with everything you do?

  • Personable - Do you work well with others when required?

It would be unfair for us to ask for so much out of you without giving something back so here's a small selection of what's on offer to successful applicants:

  • Dedicated career development plan tailored towards you

  • Peer to peer support and senior mentorship

  • Flexible working hours and working from home/office

  • Annual leave entitlement of 22 days (plus bank holidays)

  • Regular team and companywide social events

  • Private medical cash plan and benefits package

  • Annual performance related bonus (up to 10%)

  • Annual salary review

  • We look forward to hearing from you and feel free to get in touch for a soft chat or to set up an interview with us.
