Full Job Description

Position Overview: As a Chemical Engineer in our Energy Conversion team, you will apply your comprehensive biogas and biomethane experience to the development of associated systems, process technologies and project opportunities. Your deep understanding of chemical processes will enable you to assess project feasibility, develop designs and deliver solutions at the forefront of the biogas and biomethane revolution.,

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimise energy conversion processes, including thermochemical and electrochemical systems.

  • Conduct thorough analyses of process performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

  • Utilize your expertise in chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics to model and simulate energy conversion processes, facilitating predictive insights.

  • Lead experimental design and testing activities to validate process models, troubleshoot operational challenges, and develop scalable solutions.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the energy sector, incorporating relevant advancements into project designs and recommendations.

  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to provide expert insights, technical support, and strategic recommendations on energy conversion projects.

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and proposals that effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with peers to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.

  • Strong experience in chemical engineering, with a proven track record of working on energy conversion projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of energy conversion processes, including but not limited to combustion, gasification, pyrolysis, electrolysis, and fuel cells.

  • Proficiency in process modelling and simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, ANSYS) to analyse and optimize system performance.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, perform root cause analyses, and develop data-driven solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations related to energy conversion and environmental impact.
