Full Job Description

The Community Resilience Department seeks to develop resilient communities that have the skills they need to act in an emergency. The department is responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of Community First Responders - trained volunteers who provide a first response to life-threatening medical emergencies in their area. Community First Responders also play a key role in community engagement, by promoting the role of SECAmb, teaching members of the public lifesaving skills, and rolling out Public Access Defibrillators.
The department also supports a team of volunteer Chaplains, who provide pastoral support to members of the Trust after difficult or traumatic incidents, and support volunteers.
To support the delivery of high-quality education programmes to Community First Responders (CFRs). Such programmes include the induction and clinical courses for new starters and ongoing statutory and mandatory training for existing responders. The post holder will co-ordinate the Trust's training and education programme for Community First Responders within their designated region, and ensure all equipment is checked and delivered to venues., In this role you will:
+ Support the delivery of education to first responders and members of the public within assigned geographical area
+ Work with volunteer and staff colleagues to schedule educational programmes according to service need
+ Deliver training programmes as agreed with line manager
Complete all required administration before, during and after learning activities, including tuition and assessment records and sign in sheets
+ Promote the health and safety of candidates undertaking educational programmes, ensuring that activities are undertaken safely and that candidates are familiar with relevant health and safety procedures
+ Contribute to the development of educational programmes, learning materials and lesson plans
+ Gather feedback from participants in order to improve future learning activities
+ Support candidates to create action plans in order to address any identified areas for improvement
+ Supervise and support a team of volunteer CFR tutors within assigned geographical area, by providing coaching, mentoring and continual assessment
+ Undertake internal quality assurance (IQA) to ensure that all tutors are practising to a high standard, Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination.
Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
In line with this recommendation, if you are successful in your application for a front line post, we will seek information from you in relation to your vaccine status, including exemption status, as applicable.
