Full Job Description

Would you be interested in joining a professional and dedicated team of Celebrant Registrars delivering outstanding legal and non-legal ceremonies across Norfolk? We are looking to recruit friendly, vibrant, outgoing people with a meticulous attention to detail who can deliver an unforgettable service.

You must be willing to take on a legal responsibility, be able to manage large groups of people, have excellent organisational skills, work well under pressure and be comfortable with public speaking.

It will be your responsibility to ensure you deliver all the essential legal elements we require as a registration service. You'll have a confident approach with the ability to adjust your style to suit the ceremony choices of each couple to ensure we deliver to our customers' expectations.

We are particularly looking for people living around the King's Lynn, Downham Market and Dereham areas.

Saturdays are the most popular day of choice for couples booking ceremonies and so we are looking for new team members who can offer availability on Saturdays mainly. This will be an important factor in the short listing for interviews, so please utilise the notes box on the application form to advise.

The hours are also dependent on the seasonal fluctuation of ceremony bookings and so hours worked are variable each month. This role would therefore suit someone looking to supplement an existing income.

Full training will be given for each aspect of the Celebrant Registrar role.

What's required?

  • Vibrant, friendly, confident, and eloquent

  • Great people skills with a calm and caring approach

  • Meticulous attention to detail with neat, clear handwriting

  • Excellent spelling/grammar

  • Punctual and reliable

  • The ability to be flexible with the times and days you are required to work, which sometimes may be at very short notice

  • Be available to work 3 out of every 4 Saturdays a month for most of May to September

  • A valid driving licence and be able to provide your own transport with business use on your insurance policy. Able to travel to various and sometimes isolated locations

We have miles of beautiful coastline and our unique Broads, thriving market towns and a city with a proud cultural heritage. Our economy is growing and driven by innovation in a number of sectors, including energy and food. We also have ambitious plans for new housing and a building programme for schools across Norfolk. Our county a great place to live, work and visit, and is an excellent environment for businesses to start, grow and innovate.

  • We are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to more than 850,000 Norfolk residents. We take the lead in critical policy areas, working with 84 elected Members responsible for the strategic local government services in the county.

We provide a high quality service through involving people who use our services to shape and comment on them and by promoting efficiency and innovation.
