Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer (BSO) to provide administrative support to Kent Supported Homes (Supported Lodgings service) at Kroner House in Ashford, although there will be a requirement to travel to other offices county wide at times. This post is to begin as soon as possible on a full-time basis.

You will be working within our Leaving Care Team alongside staff within KSH to complete administrative tasks relating to host recruitment, compliance and payment, as well as Fostering Panel organisation across the county. You will need to feel confident liaising with front line professionals, hosts, volunteers, and occasionally young people. The service requires someone with a calm and organised approach who can manage their own workload whilst sometimes responding to urgent requests and deadlines as directed by the 18+ Accommodation Finance Officer or 18+ Accommodation Team Manager.

You will have good numeracy skills, attention to detail and be able to work to financial procedures and best practice. You should be confident in the use of Microsoft Office and be willing to undertake training as required.

You will have the support of your colleagues, and work to directly support your supervising Accommodation Finance Officer who will provide you with regular supervision and the training that you need for the role., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
