Full Job Description

You have worked in fund professional services for years, but have realized that you enjoy being out there closing deals and making new relationships more than sitting behind your desk doing NAV or drafting LPAs.

  • 3-7 years of experience in fund formation law or fund accounting/audit. This is most likely at a law firm, a fund administrator, an auditor but it could also be on the buy side at an investment firm.

  • You're really a salesperson at the core - you are great at listening, communicating, convincing, negotiating.

  • You are very organized and can stay on top of hundreds of relationships.

  • Bonus if your background involves Venture Capital or Private Equity funds specifically.

Carta is a platform that helps people manage equity, build businesses, and invest in the companies of tomorrow. Our mission is to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places.

Carta also supports nearly 7,000 funds and SPVs, and represents nearly $130B in assets under administration. Carta's tender offer solutions have returned $14B to shareholders in secondary transactions. Today, Carta's platform manages nearly three trillion dollars in equity globally., The Business Development for Fund Admin will represent Carta in-market and support the company's efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities across a network of peer service providers and of investment managers.

    The Problems You'll Solve

  • Manage-and deepen- these relationships.

  • Attend every industry event, with the aim to grow Carta's network of partners and referrors.

  • Maintain your CRM of relationships, and track how many contracts have been introduced to Carta from these relationships.

  • What you'll not do

  • Build a team or do any people management. This is a pure individual contributor role.

  • Work from home, or enjoy packed lunch at the office. You will be meeting, lunching and dining relevant personas every day, and most of your time will be spent on the field.

  • Work 9 to 5. You'll enjoy a high level of autonomy for this role, but this also means that you'll be dining out and attending events several times a week.

  • The Impact You'll Have
