Are you passionate about revolutionising business processes and driving digital transformation? Look no further! The Digital Improvement Team at GMG is seeking a dedicated individual to join us in our mission to optimise operations and improve efficiency!

As a Business Analyst you will work closely with the Digital Improvement Team to provides support in identifying and reviewing existing business processes and systems to assist with providing recommendations and proposals for changes to reduce manual processes and introduce efficiency.

Some of the other priority projects include; the OneNIHR Project and in particular the migration of services to a Single Grant System shared across the NIHR coordinating centres. As part of this project there is a need to map out and understand the As-Is and To-Be processes in GMG to enable the migration and also the implementation of the Single Grant System. This work will also help to support the Digital Strategy Programme, which is another NIHR wide initiative which seeks to personalise and modernise research through innovation and collaboration to transform the way that research is delivered and run.

This role will report to the experienced Senior Business Analyst in the team and work alongside another experienced Business Analyst who will support you and provide guidance on the tasks that you will undertake. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the NIHR and the various funding Programmes, whilst also working closely with our team to support Digital Improvement Projects., This is a great opportunity for a Business Analyst that is looking to gain further experience working with key partners to map out business processes and work on projects alongside a team of Business Analysts and our Technical Development Manager to learn more about tools and software that we have available to support our business., The following activities comprise the key responsibilities for the Business Analyst role. Subject to agreement with your Line Manager, additional activities may be required from time to time.

  • Arrange and facilitate meetings to help map out business processes using process modelling techniques e.g. AS-IS and TO-BE process mapping.

  • Assist to analyse and evaluate business processes and workflows that may arise as a result of Digital Improvement Requests or Projects.

  • Work alongside the Technical Development Manager to identify technical solutions and recommendations.

  • Utilise business analysis methodologies and tools, as required to perform your role.

  • Produce business analysis related documentation following meetings with partners, for example business process maps, requirements specifications and options appraisal.

  • Provide regular updates/ when requested on the progress of assigned tasks so that this can be reported to the Digital Improvements Assistant Director and Senior management, as required.

  • Work to facilitate partner communication and promote understanding of changes to the current ways of working.

  • Attend meetings to represent the Business Analysis function as requested for the OneNIHR project and Digital Strategy Programme.

  • Strong organisation, time management and prioritisation skills

  • Ability to convey IT issues to users in a friendly, non-technical way

  • Ability to take an adaptive and flexible approach to projects and tasks to meet the needs and changing priorities of the business., Relevant Degree or relevant qualification

  • Knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies

  • Process mapping / modelling techniques experience

  • Business requirement elicitation and analysis experience

  • Partner management experience

  • Problem solving experience

  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management)/ Software development knowledge

  • Jira Software, Work Management and Service Management experience is desirable

  • Grant management/application support experience is desirable.

    This is an office-based, hybrid role with an expectation for all employees to attend our offices a minimum of 4 days a month, usually worked as 1 day per week, and may increase, subject to team requirements.
