Full Job Description

  • To assist with secretarial and administrative support to clinical and non-clinical areas of the Hospice


  • To assist with maintaining a computerized system to record patient information for all clinical areas(EMIS Web)


  • To assist with arranging meetings, preparing agendas and documents, and taking minutes for internal meetings


  • To assist with maintaining computerized diary systems and assist with training and meeting room booking arrangements.


  • To assist with providing IT support and maintenance of printing equipment


  • To assist with Reception duties


  • To open and distribute incoming hospice mail and process outgoing department mail.


  • Work closely with and support the Ward Clerks.


  • To ensure confidential patient records and administration documents are stored securely, including safe disposal.


  • To support with the ongoing review and updating of the internal Office 365 SharePoint sites.


  • To undertake other clerical tasks as required


  • To communicate effectively both within and outside the team


  • To maintain departmental, patient and whole Hospice confidentiality


  • To participate in training as required


  • To participate in the annual appraisal process


  • To undertake any other appropriate duties as requested by relevant Managers

    Minimum criteria:

  • A minimum of 4 GCSE's 9-4 (A-C) or equivalent (including Maths & English) are required.
    Mock/predicted grades will be suitable during the application process.
