Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Drivers at the 100 Logistics
Readiness Squadron, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
The primary purpose of this position is to operate one or more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled
vehicles typically having a maximum gross weight up to 44 Tonnes - operates Articulated Lorries and one or more types
of passenger buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers on public roads (or equivalent) in a full range of traffic
conditions and at highway speeds. Operates one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks to facilitate
loading and unloading duties. Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires,
cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation. Maintains
records and documents actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports. Utilizes safety
practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work
environment. This is a shift work position; the shift schedule runs 24/7.

    Other significant facts pertaining to this position are

    1. Must already have a Category C+E and a Category D UK driving license.
    2. Must already have a Driver Certificate of Professional Competency (Driver CPC).
    3. Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a maximum gross
    weight under 44 Tonnes such as heavy load in-line lorries, or long distance coach driving, and knowledge of
    operating articulated lorry combinations of up to 44 Tonnes.
    4. Knowledge of operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers.
    5. Knowledge of cargo handling and hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo.
    6. Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle and fork lift
    operation.
    7. Knowledge of operating one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lifts.
    8. Ability to judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest and safest route; interpret
    instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle, fork lift, and power take-off unit operation and preventive
    maintenance; and meet pickup and delivery deadlines and schedules., 1. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
    2. Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, or heavier with assistance.
    3. Will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination.
    4. Required to wear protective clothing and high visibility clothing where appropriate.
    5. May be subject to random drug testing
    6. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends,
    and/or holidays.
    7. Required to operate fork lifts to facilitate cargo loading/unloading. Experience desirable.
    8. Must be able to satisfactorily complete/obtain an applicable UK Security clearance.,
