Full Job Description

This is a new position to provide support to the network and server infrastructure of the organisation with a particular focus on support of the internal Virtual Desktop and Virtual Server Infrastructure.

This position will be working within the 3rd Line support team of Leicestershire Health Informatics, providing IT Support to NHS Services within the county and beyond.

Due to the number of different technologies used within the organisation this position offers an exciting opportunity to increase your breadth and depth of knowledge in an ever changing environment.

The successful applicant will be working within a team that designs, implements and supports systems across the county to the benefit of Both NHS Staff and Service Users.,

  • Provide both Onsite and Remote support as required.

  • Support Server operations both Microsoft and Linux

  • Support Trust Virtualisation platforms, HyperV and VMware.

  • Work with the team in managing the WAN, LAN including Wireless Infrastructure HSCN connections, VOIP telephony and Internet, including security

  • Maintain Server Hardware by providing both Break fix and proactive support.

  • Liaising with external suppliers on new projects and purchases.

  • Act as Technical Lead for projects as required.

  • Ensuring Documenting is complete for systems to assist colleagues in support functions.

  • Promoting best practice in relation to System Security.
